When Our Day Is Done
A golden orb shines thru the morning mist,
And daylight rises to an open dale.
Dew drops like sparkling diamonds, amidst
The grasses with the hot sun will soon pale.
A tree standing tall, it waits for the dawn,
Only its thick weathered trunk still remains.
The beautiful limbs, with their leaves long gone,
Nature decries, old age will always claim.
Little by little its beauty was peeled
No matter the loss, still lonely it stood.
It lived life sheltering all the in the field
Protecting all life, as long as it could.
We will stand tall, as we wait for the Son
To enter God’s world, when our day is done.
