WHEN ONE IS OLD
WHEN ONE IS OLD
When one is old, could you think young
At least living life to the fullest one can
Perhaps seek an ending just like it began
For that first taste of milk on the tongue
As that hard won maturity can slip away
It is not about challenges, except to live
And that eventually something must give
Thinking of everything as if it’s yesterday
The modern world seems to never rhyme
And memories matter, maybe most of all
Will one obey even when heeding the call
Or to respond when one knows it is time
