When Once We Cared Long Ago

When once we cared… in our own way
Vowed that our love would always stay
Spent tender nights in an embrace
Then love dissolved without a trace
No entwined arms, or the loving words that we shared
We’ve only the memories of …when once we cared.

Long ago… we thought it true love
Come down from the angels’ above
In our youth we were so lovesick
Our first love seemed so dramatic
But with age arrives wisdom, and then you’ll soon know
Love lies deep in the soul, not like so …long ago.
