When My Mind Is Sad
"The bubbling brook doth leap when I come by,
Because my feet find measure with its call ..."
Jones Very, 1823-1880

The hidden birds sing me a song
as a rippling stream hums with winds strong
and swaying flowers seem to know my hand
sighing- as I stop to caress their beauty grand
and yellow bees buzz and butterflies are adrift
and pretty hummingbirds flutter and spin swift
oh, when my mind is sad- my steps seek peace
so in green I meander till sad thoughts I release
