When love is true, it does not ask you to grovel

When love is true, it does not ask you to grovel, It doesn't push you to beg for a wish and then to repeat it. You won't fall to your knees pleading for spoken respect, Nor wake up in the dead of night praying that your loved one stays, that love you've deserved. When love is in your heart, you shouldn't feel pain. Deep inside you know that a single thread cannot weave a future, Desperately wanting to make them "the chosen one", But if it were right, you wouldn’t lose yourself, in the unrest of being honest. You walk on a fragile edge and are afraid of bleeding, Your heart shatters, and thoughts spin rapidly. Love won't hurt you in a way that you can never heal, Love is more than a commitment, above a heap of feelings. Choosing the same person every day, even if they've hurt you, because no one is without flaw, And some people are simply so precious... And you will feel at that moment that fate has spoken, you and them, you two were meant to be. But with some, when you realize there's an abyss between sacrifice and compromise, Efforts made, but remain without echo, and your dignity is trampled, You will know that this is not love. Your love may be real, but theirs is not. I know it's hard to give up, but it's not worth staying where your existence is deemed insignificant. In the end, you heal and move on, that's the cycle of life.
