When Love Arrived

WHEN LOVE ARRIVED

Where were you when love arrived
When I admired you from far away
Deep within me my heart strived
To find the words to say

I would steal furtive glances
With my heart frenetically pounding
Wondering what were my chances
Without being so confounding

The dawning of that wonderful day
Seemed always to elude me
And so I went on my sorrowful way
But thoughts of you pursued me

What glory filled my beating heart
I found out you loved me from the start
