When I Was Nine
As the sun shines down,
another day so fine,
I still hold on to those memories,
the only thing that's still mine...
I remember our trips to the beach,
the squeals of laughter, the tears of joy...
I still have some of the things we bought,
down to the last broken toy.
I don't know what it is I did,
or even if it was meant to be,
but all I do remember from the dark times,
is that, since thean, you never did talk to me.
i wish you still bought me icecream,
and asked me if I was fine,
I wish you still loved me,
like you did when I was nine.
I wish you were proud of me,
like you were when I was nine...
