When I Was Just a Kid

As time goes by and I grow old
Fond memories from the past unfold

Nostalgic dreams of bygone days
Of winter snows and summer haze.

The days when I was just a kid
And doing things that kids all did

Like playing with a whip and top
And running errands to the local shop.

For mum and friends on Camels Row
And going to see a picture show

On Saturday mornings with my friends
To see our film heroes chase Red Indians.

Plus Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny
Real good value for our money

The days when I was just a kid
And doing things that all kids did.
