When I Loved Thee

When I loved thee I claimed thou art given
For I asked thee from our Almighty Father above
Who loves thee most, the love I hold won't even
His blessing is worth the lifetime I have.

When I loved thee time stopped that instant
I remember feeling this heart of mine beating
Faster than I would have run miles distant
I can hear it like a hum in the night's keeping.

When I loved thee I gave myself away
To thee alone, I dedicate the rest of my days
And to the fulfillment of the promise I gave
To the One who answer the prayer I made.
