When I Love You Becomes Ordinary Noise
When "I Love You" Becomes Ordinary Noise
When "I love you" becomes boring like automatic breathing,
and my embrace is no longer enough to stop your cold,
a simple love poem is written by me the devoted one trembling,
using sharp words to touch your sleeping feelings.
In the hope that I'll bring your heart dancing from your distant city,
down to my ceiling where I sleep with open eyes in darkness,
me? I haven't been well at all in the recent time of my lost life,
I've been on drugs lately I've been in a fight with myself.
I fight with my head trying to be sober but sober means pain,
sipping water becomes harder in these days frozen by heat,
sipping lean is how I meditate through all my heavy multicolored stress,
me? I haven't been well because while you're terribly afraid.
Of the thought that I leave you in the air I leave you behind disappearing like smoke,
I've been writing all week non-stop from my chaotic living mind,
which doesn't know what its confused heart full of clear contradictions wants,
all to write a simple love poem that brings you here.
In the hope that maybe it brings you where I am in the basement of heaven,
me? I haven't been well at all my love I need you close,
next to my heart that beats too fast or too slow never right,
I need you in my life which isn't life without your presence.
When words wear out become old like coins without clear value,
and embraces no longer warm just mimic the warmth lost long ago,
I write poems like a madman to transform lead into shining liquid gold,
sharp words like knives that cut through your ice indifference.
I want to bring your heart here where my ceiling is your inverted floor,
I'm not well I'm fractured into pieces that no longer fit together,
drugs are my false friends the fight is with my multiple colored shadows,
being sober is too much sipping water is like sipping melted glass.
Lean is my poisoned meditation through which I pass through daily hell,
you're afraid I'll leave you but I'm afraid I've already left myself,
I write non-stop like someone possessed because my mind never stops,
chaotic and full of contradictions my heart knows nothing for sure.
I write a simple complicated poem in the hope that it brings you to me,
me? I'm not well my love I need you like poisoned air,
next to my disordered heart I need you in my dead life,
because without you I'm an unfinished poem that makes no sense.
