When I Look Upon the Roses

When I look upon the roses
I see a flower oh so fair
But the stems I touch remind me
That each their thorns they also share

I see how love and pain collide
When I look upon the roses
With many colors that they wear
All it's beauty it imposes

To hide the pain that it does share
It tries to cover up it's thorns
When I look upon the roses
I see a beauty that adorns

Life is somewhat like this flower
So full of love but also pain
I think of how I'll handle each
When I look upon the roses

I love writing poems on roses. They also work well as metaphors. Lovely write here. I was looking for it previously by what I believed you title to be: upon the roses. Keep up with quatern. It's such a great form
