When I Look Outside

I live in the moment
I'll feel alive in the next
Put me under your hex
and teach me how to forget
Show me how to see the sun
When it's cold and it's dark
And how to keep that image in my mind
When I look outside I've already forgot

I feel alive in this moment
I promise I'll be alive in the next
I just need some time to flex my mind
and think my way out of it
But I can't picture the sun
If I'm never shown it
How can I paint this picture in my head
When I look outside it's the world that I dread
