When I Close My Eyes
as we all play our part in life
events beyond our control
can take you down
you can fall into yourself
cave in
but when I close my eyes
I can see
your sweet face
gentle blue eyes
feel my breath on your skin
melt with the heat of your touch
eyes wide open brings truth
as my heart aches with raw pain
unbearable loss
