WHEN HOPE FALL
I gave my trust like morning gives the sun,
Believed your words would never come undone.
I held your promise close against my chest,
Not knowing lies were hidden in your breath.
You smiled so wide, but pain was in your wake,
A heart you didn’t build — you came to break.
I dreamed of joy but woke to silent tears,
Your absence louder than my deepest fears.
I walked with faith; you walked with secret plans,
My open hands met cold, unopened hands.
I thought you meant the things you used to say,
But empty hearts don’t choose to truly stay.
Disappointment came like sudden rain ,
And left behind a quiet kind of pain.
