When He Hides His Face, Part Ii

So time goes by and now there's a lot more people,
but they'll all doin' bad things, and not payin' God no
R-E-S-P-E-C-T...well, not all of them are bad--
Old Noah is a good guy, he loves and worships God,
sooo, when God decides He's had enough of humans
(maybe He thought, 'should've made more dogs--
dogs are always loyal, they'd be my best friend!')
He goes to Noah and tells him to build an ark, NOT
A BOAT, cause a boat can move on its own, and
God probably didn't want Noah roamin' the world,
willy-nilly....

So Noah and kin build it just the way God wants it
and all his neighbors and passers-by make fun of
Noah and his family for building a 'stupid boat'
(yeah, they got it wrong), kinda like school bullies
but Noah doesn't care:God tells him to do something,
and he's gonna do it, like a good son for his Dad...
though just between you and me, maybe even Noah
had some qualms when God told him to bring two
of every animal, male and female, natch, on the ark--
I mean, think of the myriad odors! Still, Noah did it,
and then, just as the last pair of turtles (who else)
got their ultra-slow motion bodies onboard,
GOD LET LOOSE!!!!!

Rain like you never saw, rain like you can't imagine,
more than rain, an entire firmament just collapsed!
Not buckets of rain, not sheets of rain but rivers and
oceans of water poured onto the earth, drowning those
prideful, self-centered, ungrateful, violent humans
who so broke God's heart that He despaired of His
own creation, a masterwork He made so beautiful,
so bountiful, so wondrous for their sake, not His--
a world that could have become a near Heaven,
if they had only listened....
