When God takes the oars

The wind grew still, the fog blocked my view,
The waters hid what I once knew.
But when the path was lost to me,
My faith lit paths I couldn't see.

"If the wind will not serve, take the oars."
So, I rowed through storms to distant shores.
Not because the path was clear,
But because I would not bow to fear.

When tides rise, and shadows fall,
I trust the One who hears my call.
Through every storm, through every night,
God gives my weary heart new light.

"Every step taken plants hope along the way; walk with God, and He’ll guide you each day."

Dear Chisom, thank you for this inspiring entry. This is going to touch people who have faced times in life where perhaps they feel out of touch with their faith/religion. I love the hope that shines through your poem that encourage ones to see that all is not lost. 🙂 I particularly appreciate your lines, "Not because the path was clear, But because I would not bow to fear"... the message I see is that nobody said life would be easy. We sometimes have to fight hard for the things that matter to us. A reminder the God is always there ready to guide and to welcome home with open arms. It is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this poem in the contest. All the best. 😊
