When Friendship Runs, It Wasn’t Real
You said I mattered, that you cared..
But when I reached, you weren’t there.
Your words were kind, your tone was warm..
Yet gone you went when came the storm.
You made me feel I had your trust..
Then left it buried in the dust.
Your comfort came when it was light..
You vanished when it turned to night.
I gave, I tried, I stood by you..
Through every lie you swore was true.
You called me friend, but in the end..
You only showed what "use" can bend.
You say you need your space, your time..
But friendship isn’t some thin line.
It’s not convenience, not a game..
It’s standing firm through loss and gain.
You run when things get far too real..
You dodge the truths you don’t want to feel.
You fear connection, close and true..
So you destroy what’s built with you.
Each time I spoke, you brushed aside..
Each time I hurt, you let it slide.
You made me shrink, you made me small..
Just so I wouldn’t ask at all.
You say you’re strong, that walking’s brave..
But running’s just another grave.
You’ve buried trust, you’ve buried care..
And now there’s nothing left to share.
Real friends stay when things get tough..
They don’t decide your pain’s enough.
They fight, they listen, they don’t run..
They don’t give up when hearts come undone.
So go your way, I’ll stand alone..
My worth is something you’ve outgrown.
When friendship fades, it’s truth revealed..
When it runs.. it wasn’t real.
