Notes About The Poem

Sometimes things seem too big or too much to achieve, and we'd rather curl up in a ball and ignore the lot of it.

When Everything Is Too Much

Everything, all of it, it’s all just too much,
The jobs and tasks on the list,
It’s all become such a burden to carry,
It’s a burden for me to exist,

From day to day, the things to be done,
They push me up to the wall,
And it doesn’t matter the size of the job,
Whether it’s big or it’s small,

From filling in holes, to filling a bag,
To filling the cupboards with food,
To filling out forms for my motor vehicle,
When I’m getting my rego renewed.

It’s all just too much for my little mind,
My mind now needs to be nursed,
My mind’s now full of angst, doubt and dread,
I fear it’s going to burst.

The rhythm, for me, embodies those lapping thought processes to a tee. Excellent ink.
