When Every Star Is a Cherished Wish

When all our days are counted, and all our night dreams lived, could we have wanted for anything else, than to be loved? If every star was a cherished wish, would we gather them up, or let them stay, for all to see? If along the way we dance, in the moon's shadowed light, like lovers, would that be enough? If we caught each tear that fell,in our palms, would we sense the passing of time, or be visitors moving through, unrestrained, drawing strength from each other, without question or guilt. Would we already have seen heaven, before life's breath echos in the chambers of our heart, as we cross time in the arms of the one we love?
