When Dreams End

When early morning breaks and the sun shines through Sleep flees from the eyelids and false fantasies are eschewed When the dream ends and the music fades, we are left with harsh sunlight cutting through the mystery of the night Wishing to continue our dreams we close our eyes and pretend to not see the light We can only hide for so long and all too soon our delusion fades And then we long for the ancient days when we were loved without a thought
