When Dragons Mate

What happens when dragons mate?
I wondered, thinking of massive bodies
in passionate embrace, tails slashing
innocent bystanders, fallen trees, scales
flying like fatal frisbees and thunderous
thumps and bumps in the night. But no,
my wife insisted, because they are so genteel,
have such a sense of style of what is proper
and appropriate, and know so very well
their endangered place within this world,
they probably just quietly cuddle.
Does anyone really know just what happens
when dragons mate?
