When the doves cried for you my one true love, I heard them in the cemetery as we buried you; the sound echoing in the trees, as I said aloud a prayer for you and those gathered. When the doves cried for you my baby boy, the angels turned away in tears; you never saw the sky and never felt my kisses, did you hear the lullaby I sang just for you. When the doves cried for you daddy, they must of know how shattered my heart was; never again your smile or laugh to hear, and never again your touch upon my hair. When the doves cried for you mommy, I fell to my knees weeping for I still needed you; oh, why did God need another angel, I will honor your love for flowers with a garden each year. At your graves I listen to the doves crying .
