When Did We Start Hating Nature?
When did we start hating nature?
Fields of flowers plowed under
Killed to make room for a Walmart
Miles of trees cut down to make a road
Grey asphalt with white and yellow lines
Lines that lead nowhere and everywhere
Air once clear and cool changed
Pollution turns the bright blue to brown
Chemical trails replace clouds
As the birds drop from the skies
Water once teemed with life
Is now covered with waste detergent
And slick with a million barrels of oil
Mother Nature gave us a gift
A pristine planet
Fresh air
Clean water
A world of trees and flowers.
Man decided to make it more efficient
To waste what she gave us
To slowly kill our planet
The question remains
When did we start hating nature?
