When All the Humans Are Gone

One day,
When books turn to dust
Aliens will wonder
What happened to us

Our computers will look
Like oversized paperweights
With no way to access
The knowledge encased

Especially the poets
On poetrysoup
They would miss out
On this literary troupe

Of like-minded poets
Who write from their souls
Pouring their hearts and emotions
Into their bowls

No soup for the aliens
They will have to make do
With wondering why
Our world is in ruins

Get Well P.D.!

I love this, Susan. it is one of those poems just for US, the poets of Soup. We can really appreciate it. Frogley may have known I adored him. But it's one of those things you just never know. I think he enjoyed making me miserable ever since I may have pissed him off by taking John at the youth camp. IF you read my BIO/narrative I did about my first love(somewhere on my current page of poetry) you will see the story of john and Chris is the boy mentioned at the beginning of that narrative.

Happy weekend and thank you for sharing your wonderful poetry with us once again Susan. I am going to try and write some entries for the contests this weekend also. It is still so hot and humid here but we might get some relief next week. Wishing you a weekend filled with joy and inspiration. Love, Carol

There is some fine humor here, Susan, but the serious message packs a punch. I fear one day aliens will indeed wonder why we destroyed our planet. Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn
