When a Love Affair Is Over
I had a linguistic love affair for awhile with this handsome gentleman,
Today I think after he said good-bye the affair is over.
For awhile we got along exceptionally well,
You often ask yourself when someone chooses to leave.
Will your neighbors miss you, maybe we were only friends,
Some friendships are only meant to last for awhile.
What a nice friendship for awhile, I shared my love of art and poetry with him,
He gave me an appreciative hug and a kiss when I gave him two of my drawings.
I was disappointed when he didn't wish to communicate any further,
I miss our hugs, I hope that he is keeping well.
I thank God for this friendship and that my friend took the time to care,
Always say that I will meet someone just as nice.
God sends us miracles when we least expect them,
My Thanksgiving poem is appearing in the Heritage Letter and Calendar.
The "Thanksgiving Miracle" is my poem chosen and there is also a picture of me with my Poetry Award.
The blessed senior retirement continues and I am very thankful.
