When

When the whole of people talk to me,
I drown them out with my thoughts.

When everyone asks me questions,
I turn my back to listen to my mind.

When the world swallows my peace,
I go to the corner and listen to the echoes of space.

When the jealousy and anger nip at my heels,
I stop running and start digging.

When your eyes penetrate the barrier,
I cover my guilt with tears.

But when you smile,
So do I.
