Wheels Up, Wanderer
Edges, borders, beyond the ego
Outward
Inward
Breathe and blow
Fences, choices, self determination
Ripples
Forms
On with the show
Wheels up, rollin on the way
Forward
Further
Into the day
Black behind me, never do I see
Everything left behind
As I move with the beat
Forward is the only rhythm
Forward is the key
Bodies in motion
Hardly ever cease
I don’t walk the straight lines they painted
Never cared for borders drawn by hands that never touched the dirt
I follow the roads that slip between the rules
The ones that don’t show up on any map
But always know where I’m headed
The world calls me outlaw
Like it’s an insult
But all it means is I belong to the wind
More than I ever belonged to a town
I leave quiet footprints
And loud stories
I take nothing but the miles
Give nothing but the truth
And keep moving before the dust even settles
I’m not running from anything
I’m running with something
The beat
The breath
The wild pull of elsewhere
That refuses to let me stay still
Wind whistles all the names
Of people who couldn’t remain
I reckon mine is heard
In the banter between
The heavens and the earth
