What's Wrong With Daddy
PTSD is real. And it can be challenging to work through. Inspired by a moving storyline in a show.
"What's wrong with daddy?"

"What's wrong with daddy?"
Says a child to his mom
Not understanding the situation
Because he is too young
Fighting for his country
PTSD with his memories
The darkness and the anger
The tremors and the emptiness
"What's wrong with daddy?"
Seems rhetorical to the world
Because no one seems to help
The VA seems to be on hold
Life is so often strange
When the good guys carry scars
They're left to fend for themselves
To heal their broken hearts
The heartbreak and the challenges
Can make or break our lives
Saving the world for others
Yet not being able to save ourselves
"What's wrong with daddy?"
He's hoping one day he can answer
To live long enough to heal
And explain it to his son
Love and light and joy
Seem so very far out of reach
But family is the most beautiful tether
And he longs for sweet release
"What's wrong with daddy?"
He will focus on this love
The relationships that he lives for
His blessings from God above
His family is his Heaven
He wants to feel the Light
Their love keeps him grounded
And God helps his spirit fly
