I find language to be a fascinating subject, the way we vary our words from region to region. You touched on it nicely!

me. too, Andrea!! I insisted that my kids learn "proper" english because it makes it FAR easier to get a job that pays, but I also encouraged them to listen to how others were saying things because the more styles you can speak in, the more people you can effectively communicate with.. (pardon the dangling participle, hehe..) Can never have too many tools in your bag!

ty for the kind comment, and what I'm really trying to capture is listening through differences

:) I have friends who leave these "abbreviations" at the end of their emails and I can't figure out what they're trying to say. This is a very clever poem, Nancy, and I love the way you bring this communication problem to light. Love, Carolyn
