What's In a Name -

I

Oh! Mother what is the mystery
  behind my name you chose,
I want to know why you didn’t
name me Jasmine or Rose?

You adore many colors
  bright orange, green and yellow,
Why you didn’t think of some
colorful name like Rainbow?

When I was small, you liked to
read me fairy tales every night,
So, why you didn’t name me
pretty Cinderella or Snow-White?

II

My girl, the day you were born
and I looked in your deep eyes,
    Blessed with eternal beauty
they got me mesmerized.

So I named you after a goddess
  with charming fish shaped eyes,
Now you know the truth that
behind your beautiful name lies.
