Whatever Happened To Porter Wagoner

Remember the fellow with the slicked-back hair Cowboy suits with lots of fringe? Thought he and Dolly made quite the pair, His nasal voice made us cringe. Yes, he gave the “little lady” a chance to sing On his weekly television show We thought he and Dolly were having a fling, But it was Carl who made her glow. Years have brought Dolly fortune and fame Her mentor slipped into obscurity, Most people don’t even remember his name But her songs bought her security.

I remember Porter Wagoner. I liked him too and his fancy fringed jackets!

I wasn't a big fan of Wagoner, but I sure loved Dolly. Still do. She's a fine lady, for sure!

Hi L. Milton, Him and Dolly made quite the pair.I used to see him host the Grand Old Opry. Dolly’s most famous hit, “ I’ll Always Love You. “ was about him. I enjoyed the read. Have a great day and weekend:-)Alexis

Yep, all true. Dolly made over $4 million from this song. Leaving his show was probably the best business decision she ever made.
