What world do you live in?

What world do you live in?

I live in a world
Where people don't often care
They're tired and they're overwhelmed
They live in darkness and fear

But this is not my world
This is not the world I aspire to
I believe in goodness and mercy
I believe in beauty and joy and truth

Where hope and faith reside
Where people consider each other
Kindness is a blessing for all
And love and light are gems we discover

Where we are the good in action
Caring and smiles are dared
No one feels forgotten or neglected
It's a world where life is shared

What world do you live in?
And are you contributing to the change?
Because only if we make a conscious effort
Will our collective future be one we can save
