What Words Can Do

It may be true that sticks and stones break my bones
But words will always hurt me
Some try to pick me up
But I stumble and trip
Till I fall again
Deeper and deeper
Sinking into this black pond
That's growing into a ocean
The words that I herd
Filling me with hate
I try to escape your grip
But these chains that bind me
Keep there hold
pulling my soul
into this black pit
