What Will It Take

It's killing her Every pill, powder, plant she inhales Her body is slowly shutting down Doing more of it just to escape the pain Her best friend standing off to the side Completely helpless trying to climb over her walls That she has put up and locked her out of Leaving her to watch from the outside What's left to do? Nothing but watch As it consumes her mind and body Until there's nothing left but bones What will it take?

I knew a few like this. Watching someone you deeply care for, crumble so badly, is deeply heartbreaking. That sense of helplessness is just salt to the wound. Damn. May it get better somehow...strong message here.
