What We Did With the Past
A historians words
have often been heard
with wonder and amazement
Telling of wars, inventions, explores
everything memory can mintion
They are our eye's into the past
seeing events and reasons
Telling our ears
of triumphs and fears
of nations, kings, and religions
Scribes record the words
of their lords
on stone, papyrus, and paper
A glimps of the past
into mans hour glass
for futures information
Recording the facts
should never be laxed
with embelishments
prejudiced partition
Stories, myths, ledgends and fibs
told by polititions
There's always an old woman
a century old who can testify
to most of the truth
When the storytellers
tell the tale
she can recall it from her youth
One stops to wonder
that from their Savior
they are only twenty souls away
Faith founded in memories
of the old and gray
We were given a mind
that collapses space and time
And with it create wisdom
up to date
Civilization is the creation
of all things put together
architecture, agriculture
technologies new inventions
Hundreds and thousands
of historians
with all different kinds of stories
Of how the past
has made the future
Our present day glory
