What Was So Good

You asked if I could love you
My heart was ahead of those words
Wonderful chats into the wee hours
Laughter that had me in tears
True, I tore it apart
So bad I wanted it back
I no longer dream of that
What was so good
Is now just a lovely memory
The past, forever gone
