What To Write...

What to write...What to write...
The question is always there.
I as a writer takes inspiration
From the things he sees everywhere.

What to write...What to write...
The question still applies.
For sometimes I know not what to say
No matter how hard my brain tries.

What to write...What to write...
The question with few answers now.
For everything I want to say
Has been already said, somehow.

What to write...What to write...
The question that is a writer's scourge.
Somehow I get no help in writing
Unless I have the urge.

What to write...What to write...
The question that I ask each day.
And when I've written something down
I wonder what others will say.

What to write...What to write...
The question I have for all of you.
Do you have the same achy feeling,
Or does your writing come more easily for you?

What to write...What to write...
The question I've answered for today.
Is in the few words that I have scribbled here
And are good enough for you to read I pray!

I think that sums it up nicely, sometimes it's easy sometimes it's not, most of us I'm sure have written a poem about not being able to write a poem ' cos that is the emotion most prevelent at the time :)

Oh yes, many of us have that "same achy feeling" when choosing subjects for our poems, Daniel. Many Soup members can relate to the feelings you expressed cleverly in this unique form. Happy Fourth of July, my friend! Love, Carolyn
