What To Say
What to say to a woman.
To a woman with doubt in her mind,
fear in her heart,
knots in her soul.
To a woman with lust in her eyes,
hunger in her gut
and desire in her body.
To a woman who wanders in the dark,
rejects the love of friends,
accepts the hands of a stranger.
To a woman who misses her companions,
her family;
and longs for arms at night.
To a woman who cries out for attention
and finds it only in the eyes
of a man hiding behind a mask.
They try to teach us so many things;
how to live, how to kill,
how to die,
how to win and to lose;
cook, fish, drive, read, write;
how to be honorable
and how to survive pain.
But not a one has told,
or even truly knows,
the key to giving comfort,
to listening;
to find solutions,
or to be the romantic
or the friend
as needed.
Not one, man, woman or beast
has ever told a man;
what to say to a woman.
