What Time Is It?
Have you ever had one those days
When you just couldn't get out of bed?
Your snooze alarm keeps going off
And your eyelids feel like lead
"Just five more minutes" you tell yourself
You know that's all it will take
But that, somehow, turns into twenty-five
Before you start to wake
Then, you finally find the energy
To face the coming day
You stumble to the bathroom
While mumbling along the way
You take your morning shower
Make sure your teeth are brushed
You check to see if the seat is down
And all your business flushed
You finally get your morning coffee
Your eyeslids now free from lead
You check to see if the dog needs out
Before you even comb your head
You head out toward the driveway
And crawl into the car
That sound still drives you crazy
That says your door's ajar
You fight the morning traffic
As you're finally on your way
Embarrassment overwhelms you
As you realize, it's saturday
Any similarities to persons alive or dead are purely coincidental
No Alarm clocks were harmed during the writing of this poem
