what the rat said
What the rat said
The rat that sat atop the TV cabinet said
So you have only been married once, blaming
your busy life and fate
When the truth is that you didn't want children to
disturb your self-contained egotism
You know, life like the one you live cannot
Go on, but you don't care
When you read about the few children born at
places in, say, Japan, you lament this saying
things like they must breed or disappear
As a nation, but you know they are the old
like you are absorbed in your self-interest
