What Strong Is
Strong is being able to wake up each morning with him in mind knowing things will never change.
Strong is seeing him and telling yourself you're better off.
Strong is smiling when all you want to do is cry.
Strong is always finding a way to make yourself feel good when you feel your lowest.
Strong is wanting to text him, contemplating it and not doing it.
Strong is having the ability to look happy everyday when the nights before were filled with tears.
Strong is letting go of something, of someone you've fought for, for so long.
Strong is remembering everything that once made you so happy, that now causes you pain and
making yourself feel nothing.
Strong is listening to "your song" and allowing yourself to sing it as if at one point it never made you feel alive to hear.
Strong is bringing yourself to tell him you're angry with him because before you never did.
Strong is finding the courage to tell him you don't truly care.
Strong is having him swim in the same lane as you and not causing a scene.
Strong is holding hands with your boyfriend as if months before his wasn't the hand you held.
Strong is remembering what you had and really, finally not feeling a thing.
Everyday, every moment you're experienced.
Every tear you've shed,
every night you couldn't stop thinking about him.
Every cut and every scar,
has all lead up to this moment.
This beautiful moment because finally....
you're free.
That's what strong is.
