What Makes a Man

So often, I have wondered what makes a man,
is it really his courage or on the pride he stands?
Is it the way he pretends sorrow is not bad,
when inside, he craves for all that he had?

Sometimes, I wonder what he would think,
if he shed a tear with an innocent blink.
Would he know how to feel, would he think himself weak,
or would he face the world with the pain on his cheeks?

Does it make you a man when you don't give in,
when you keep secret the hurt within?
Does it make you a man when you just take it in strides,
when you can say hello as quick as goodbye?

So often I have wondered alone in the dark,
but what makes a man is the beat of his heart.
The beat of love, the beat to hold on,
the beat to believe when all is gone.

What makes a man ,
is simply the courage to stand!!!!
