What Lies Inside
He keeps a little piece of her inside , a look
a smile ,a song ,a gentle thought.
She keeps a little piece of him inside ,a word
a touch ,a kiss, a kindness done.
He keeps hidden close inside the dream
of the way life should be.
She holds on faithfully to the idea
of the way love is supposed to be.
Apart they are two souls that long
to be whole .
Together they hold
the pieces of the puzzle that fit
together to make them one.
