What Lies Beneath
Crossing the lake on a canoe
Splashing hurriedly the water
Watching the seagulls roaming about,
Some crocodiles camouflaged waiting for their prey…..
The crossing is tiring as the lake fights the paddle
Splash goes the seagull diving to catch a surfacing fish,
As I enjoy the wondrous view of the vast trees and plants…
I stopped the canoe in the middle of nowhere,
Gazing at the still waters
Wondering what lies beneath,
What artifacts might be found,
Mysteries forever hidden in the deep bottom of the lake.
