What I'Ve Seen In My 26 Years

I've seen people smile seen them cry,
Seen people live seen them die.
I've seen heroes rise seen them fall,
Went from having everything to having nothing at all.
I've seen the beauty of life,
And the ugliness of a knife,
Gun, bomb and every other weapon.
I've seen people traded for diamonds.
I've seen what I shouldn't have seen,
Been where I shouldn't have been.
I've seen the highs seen the lows,
Seen friends turned into foes.
I've seen love overcome hatred,
Seen the devil shamed and defeated.
I've seen a miracle through the birth of my daughter,
Seen life restored through a few drops of water.
I've seen God in my darkest hour,
Felt his presence and witnessed his power.

I've seen a lot in my 26 years,
Bravado overcome by fear, laugher followed by tears,
Drugs overdozed,
But nothing compares to what I see at night when my eyes are closed.
