What It Means

If I could see you every day
For the rest of my life
I would be so happy
But why should I be
When you no longer seem to feel that way
about me

I’m done with emotion
I’m done with feeling
And it looks like you are too
Judging by the way you’re acting

Every time I find someone perfect for me
I’m reminded they’ll be just out of my reach
No matter who it is
No matter where they are
No matter how very much they mean to me

I’m finally beginning to learn what it means
What this great grand thing we call “life” really means
And I’d rather be on my own all alone
Than bouncing a baby on my knee.
