What Is White

There was a time
When people were hurt
And treated like dirt
Because of the color of their skin
Black

They were sold
And murdered
And treated like criminals
“They’re not human”
Our society was told
So we believed it
We kept the mindset
That blacks were dirty
And should be treated as animals
That blacks were evil
And worth less than a penny
So tell me
If white’s claimed all these things
About the blacks
And if these were all the descriptions and accusations
They charged on the blacks
Then what is white?

White’s obviously must be cruel
Selfish, greedy, and inhumane
To treat their own kind
With such hateful and brutal actions
For any person
Who really thinks this way of blacks
Must not be in their right mind
Any person
Who thinks badly of blacks
Is one hundred times worse
Then the evaluation they gave the blacks

The color of a person’s skin
Should not define them
We all bleed the same red blood
So don’t be the one person
Who still has that old, cruel, WHITE mindset

Blame it on the eyes, the ego of the heart, or the dividers who want to justify and rule...Nice poem...All the best Hannah
