What Is Today

Listening for signs of life, but hear crickets. Joining corridors into an open space Dancing, laughter, vibrant Yet silent. Visions of concerts and crowds and a packed stadium. The silence echoes through the stands and makes a faint whistle through the empty coke cans on the ground. A numbing silence that permeates it's own walls making it collapse back into itself. Padded walls vibrating from the silent tension of the mind within its confines. Hoping for a glance. A gesture. Acknowledgement. Remember I am here. Eager to connect. Converse and have an exchange of wit and meshing of minds. Shoes shuffle past too busy to be delayed. Too important to be hindered. Too inhumane to consider me. Me another human. A human soul trapped in flesh, an eternal being waiting to escape. To escape the flesh, the walls, the corridors, and the stadium stands. But most of all waiting To escape the silence. How long has it been? Who are you, and where am I? Have I been asleep? Why am I so stiff and sore? And again, where am I? Shrieking mind-blowing thunder pierces through my eardrums, rupturing them, making everything hazy. Millions of eyes are on me as it registers in my mind, the thunder said my name. I lift my eyes and brush away the cobwebs, eyes trying to focus. What am I looking at? I think to myself. Booming thunder replies " That is my tunic!" I focus and look higher and drop my jaw in awe. It is Him. I am before Him. He is beautiful. Breathtaking. Enormous. " Come up here", He calls. Then I see the Book. My God. Today is Judgement Day.
