What Is Normal

You say that I’m not normal
You say that I am a little bit odd
I know that I have weaknesses
I know that I am flawed

You say that I am crazy
You say that I am quite insane
But how can you really claim to know
What is going on inside my brain?

My views are not the same as
what you seem to believe
I just see things differently
Than the way that you perceive

So, who are you to tell me
That I am insane or not
When you know nothing of
the demons that I have fought

Am I a deranged lunatic?
Or perhaps a psychopath?
Am I a madman who spews
Their hatred, rage and wrath?

Perhaps I’m the one that’s normal
And everyone else has gone insane
In which case, it will be
From sanity that I will abstain.
