What Is It

When did we do that?
When did we become what we shouldn’t be?
The trees, the seas, the grass, the ants and the sun
They all are what they should be

When did we realise that we’re not the key?
Happiness, equality and freedom is no-way a humans humanity

What is it we lie, we see things that can’t be
We steal hope from each other
We kill freedom to be free

What is it we talk?
About life’s lottery?
We wake to the new morn’
While others will never live free

What is it we are?
Humanity?
Ignore other people’s suffering and pain!
So we can live free?

What is it we feel?
Some kind of serenity?
Nice house and nice car
Nice bed to have nice dreams?
Wind bites in the cold night at the homeless lonely!

Thousands of years of knowledge we have, advancing science, wisdom and the intelligence we breed?
Yet half the world out there is still begging on its knees

What is it we’ve learned?

Not much really!
